Behind software house Agile Bridge’s formidable growth

South African software house Agile Bridge has observed impressive growth in recent years and has increased its team of highly skilled engineers to around 170 since 2019.
The company prioritises its employees because it believes valuing and respecting them is critical. They are the cornerstone of delivering service that resonates with Agile Bridge’s clients.
Agile Bridge was founded in South Africa in 2003. In 2019, it underwent a leadership change, with Deon Koegelenberg appointed CEO and Robert McMenamin appointed CTO.
“Agile Bridge embarked on an ambitious growth and expansion strategy, increasing its team of highly skilled software engineers to approximately 170,” it says.
“Before the expansion strategy in 2019, Agile Bridge was known as a boutique software development partner specialising in multinational and complex enterprise solutions, architecture, and systems design.”
It said it excels in developing mobile apps, dynamic web applications, complex integrations, frontend, and robust back-end systems for cloud and on-premises systems.
“At Agile Bridge, we leverage the latest technologies, but our focus is always on building solutions that stand the test of time — designed to last over a decade resisting constant redevelopment,”
While the company has serviced large enterprise clients globally for years, it has also started shifting to offer services to medium-sized clients, offering these companies competitive and cost-efficient systems in South Africa and internationally.
“Agile Bridge excels in projects within the financial services, banking, insurance, and automotive sectors, where high-transactional, complex, and reliable solutions are essential,” it says.
Since its inception, the software house has partnered on numerous public and private business projects.
“Whether it is banking applications, payroll systems, financing, insurance, or gaming apps, Agile Bridge’s influence is widespread,” it says.
Some of its most notable projects include:
- Building a multinational system operational in Korea, Japan, Europe, and other Asian-Pacific countries for Mercedes-Benz’s head office in Stuttgart, Germany.
- WeBuyCars’ ecosystem and high transaction auction system.
- Betway’s partnership with Agile Bridge to provide key software resources for its US market expansion.
- Sage, which used Agile Bridge’s services to develop payroll and accounting systems across multiple international markets as an augmentation partner.
- Building applications and systems for major banks and insurance companies in South Africa and abroad.
Other notable clients include City Power, Microsoft, Motus, Hippo.co.za, and King Price.
“What sets Agile Bridge apart from other software development firms is its exceptional team of craftsmen and their unwavering focus on customer satisfaction and client service,” the company stated.
It added that this ensures that every line of code delivered to products meets a high standard. Its culture is driven by high performance and delivery whilst maintaining a fun environment.
“Agile Bridge prides itself on the quality of its people and the superior client service it delivers. It is driven by a deep commitment to serving both its employees and clients,” it said.
