Twitter hit by multiple outages

Social media platform Twitter/X experienced intermittent outages, with users across the globe saying they could not access the service.
Twitter experienced a site-wide disruption that also impacted data pipelines it offers to developers, it said on a status page on Monday.
New posts wouldn’t load for users in South Africa, the US, UK, France, and India at three different times during the day. The first two outages lasted a few minutes each.
Several people in South Africa reported that the social media platform was still not working for them 30 minutes after the third outage started sometime after 18:00.
More than 40,000 users in the US reported having issues at the peak, according to the monitoring website Downdetector.
Elon Musk, who bought Twitter in 2022 and later renamed it X, didn’t mention the outage on his own account. He posted earlier on Monday that X was “the top source for news on Earth.”
A representative for X didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
