Transfer your legacy co.za domain name today

People usually resist change for no other reason than sticking to what they know – especially if what they know works.
The age-old mantra goes: ‘If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.’
However, sometimes change is inevitable.
Technologies change and render older ones obsolete, while compliance with modern cybersecurity standards is critical and mandatory for protecting personal data.
Digital transformation, founded on principles of automation and real-time analytics, has become a strategic business necessity.
These factors are key reasons behind the need to transition from a legacy domain name management system to one premised on a shared registry domain name management platform.
The CO.ZA legacy system has stood the test of time. It has been in operation for the past 30 years, but for many of the reasons mentioned above, the time has come to decommission it.
Your domain will be better managed through an accredited registrar – and you could even enjoy more competitive domain name registration fees if you want to retain your valuable digital asset indefinitely.
It is time to act! We thank each and every one of our co.za legacy clients for their loyalty to this platform and are excited to continue this journey together, albeit on a different domain name management system.

Why transfer your legacy CO.ZA domain name to an accredited registrar?
- You might save money
This bears repeating, as many of our accredited registrars offer competitive pricing for domain name registrations.
Depending on the package you secure with them, this may be lower than what you are currently paying on the legacy system.
You will also enjoy peace of mind knowing that your domain name is managed in terms of a modern domain name management system that is fully ISO compliant.
This means it adheres to the highest standards of security, reliability, service quality and continuous improvements.
- If you don’t, you might lose your legacy co.za domain name
More importantly, the legacy co.za domain name system will be decommissioned by 30 June 2025.
This means that if you have not transferred your domain name to an accredited registrar by this date, it will go into a suspension and deletion process between July and August 2025.
You do not want to lose a domain name that you have held onto for time immemorial because of its value (whether sentimental or commercial).
We therefore urge you to act promptly by following the steps above and ensure that you transfer your digital asset to an accredited registrar as quickly as possible, by no later than 30 June 2025.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and will be on standby to support you through this transfer process.
