Nedbank payday outage

Several Nedbank customers have reported that financial institution’s online banking services were offline on Monday, 31 March 2025.

Downdetector shows that Nedbank’s problems began at around 09:00, with outage reports surging about thirty minutes later.

A Nedbank business banking customer contacted MyBroadband at around 10:00 to say they were unable to log into their app or the online banking website.

Initially the app said that there was a server error and advised that they try again later.

However, 20 minutes later Nedbank’s online platforms were completely unresponsive.

“Your online banking service platform appears to have failed. Any idea when you will have it repaired?” one customer asked on Twitter/X.

“I don’t think they’re aware. I’ve been holding on the line for so long!” another answered.

Another customer’s feedback was direct. “Nedbank fix your app yhoo!” she said.

The bank had not acknowledged the issue at the time of publication.

Nedbank experienced a similar outage of its online and mobile banking platforms in September last year that took around three hours to repair. The bank did not reveal what had caused the disruption at the time.

MyBroadband contacted Nedbank for comment about its latest outage. The bank said it would provide feedback as soon as possible.
