DStv adding more value to its affordable packages

MultiChoice-owned DStv is adding more value to its lower-tier packages by expanding its channel bouquets and giving customers access to content not previously available on these packages.

This includes various new channels for DStv Compact, Family Access, and EasyView customers, as well as limited access to other content.

In mid-March 2025, MultiChoice announced five new channels for DStv Compact customers. These include SuperSport Action on channel 210, Africa Magic Showcase on 151, CBS Justice on 170, Curiosity Channel on 185, and History Channel on 186.

“Five new channels are coming to DStv Compact from 1 April 2025, bringing more entertainment variety to customers looking for the best live and on-demand local and international entertainment,” the broadcaster stated.

“Spanning kids, movies, music, news, lifestyle, sport and more, DStv compact is already an excellent viewing experience, and the five new channels and extra concurrent stream add even more value for customers.”

It also gave DStv Compact customers an extra stream and now offers them a 40% discount on its streaming platform Showmax.

Moreover, customers opting for a fixed-term 24-month contract will also benefit from discounted subscription rates.

The pay-TV broadcaster also announced channel additions for its DStv Family, DStv Access, and DStv EasyView packages.

Those who subscribe to DStv Family can now access Comedy Central on channel 122, where they can watch popular shows like The Neighbours, Becker, The Daily Show, and South Park.

They also have access to home improvement channel HGTV on DStv channel 177, enabling them to watch shows like Christina on the Coast and What’s Wrong with that House.

MultiChoice has also added Disney Channel on 303 to the DStv Family package, enabling subscribers to access content like The Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, and Coop and Cami Ask The World.

DStv Access subscribers can now access Zee World on channel 166 for Bollywood drama and romance and Nicktoons, with content like SpongeBob SquarePants on channel 308.

“DStv EasyView welcomes SuperSport Schools (216), showcasing South Africa’s rising sports stars,” said MultiChoice.

MultiChoice has also been running a promotion for DStv Access customers that gives them access to WWE Raw, SmackDown, and NXT wrestling content until 19 April 2025. The promotion began on 17 March.

Availability includes live events and re-runs and won’t include unlimited, 24-hour access to WWE content.

“The first episode to watch what happens next will be on Friday, 21 March at 21:00 (all times CAT), followed by a new instalment the following week at 22:00,” said MultiChoice.

“The three Saturdays that follow will see Africa’s biggest sports broadcaster air the episodes live at 02:00, all on SS Variety 4 (Channel 209).”
